In the quarter-final against PSG, Jamal Musiala was stretchered off after a violent collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Bayern midfielder suffered a fractured tibia.
He was screaming in pain. Witnessing the collision, many players, both on the pitch and on the bench, were clutching their heads. After initial treatment by medics, Musiala was taken to the hospital, where doctors predicted a recovery time of around five months. This could be longer depending on the Bayern star’s condition.
The 22-year-old is arguably Bayern’s best player, and if he is sidelined for an extended period, it would be a huge blow for the German giants.

After the 0-2 final result, Bayern supporters expressed their frustration with their opponents. Goalkeeper Neuer felt Donnarumma’s behavior as he rushed into the collision with Musiala. Neuer said: “He didn’t need to rush in like that! It was reckless. He risked injuring his opponent. I went over to him and said, ‘Don’t you want to go and see our player?'”
After such a collision, it’s a matter of respect to wish the injured player good luck. And that’s what he did next.
Neuer’s comments echo those of manager Vincent Kompany, who said: “I’m furious” at Musiala’s injury. Sporting director Max Eberl, meanwhile, cited Donnarumma for his “reckless” behavior.
