However, the White House assistant led the Democratic Governor and the members of the delegation to the oval room without notifying that Mr. Trump was holding a press conference at that time.
When he realized the presence of a large number of reporters here, the 53 -year -old female governor rushed to cover his face, standing between the two White House assistants, seemingly to avoid being photographed.

In an event later in Michigan, Governor Whitmer said she was not foretold that Mr. Trump was a press conference in the Oval Office, only thinking that she was invited to a private meeting with the president.
“I was at the wrong time. I had no plan or desire to appear in the oval room at that time. I did not agree with many things that were said and the decisions were deployed in the room at that time, but I still lingered for the mission to present aspirations for Michigan,” she said.

Whitmer, re -elected Governor of Michigan in 2022 with the overwhelming victory of the Republican opponent, has long been considered a potential candidate of the Democratic Party for the race to enter the White House in 2028.
However, she is said to have changed significant attitude towards Mr. Trump in this term, different from the battlefields between the two in the Civid-19 epidemic.
She sent a letter to congratulate Mr. Trump right after the inauguration on January 20, thanking him for mentioning the auto industry in the speech and also sent his own phone number, saying that the US President could call her if needed.
