The Indiana Fever has issued a response following the WNBA’s announcement of an investigation into allegations of racist behavior toward Angel Reese.
The Fever played Reese’s Chicago Sky at home on Saturday, beating them soundly in what turned out to be a 93-58 blowout.
Over the past day, a third-quarter incident between Reese and Caitlin Clark has been front and center. However, the league has more serious concerns and released a statement Sunday afternoon revealing that allegations of racism are under investigation.
“The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hatred, and discrimination in all forms—they have no place in our league or society. We are aware of the allegations and are investigating the matter,” the statement said.
Chloe Peterson of the Indy Star reports that the announcement stems from allegations of racial comments made by fans toward Reese.
“Sources with knowledge of the situation indicate this is related to allegations of racial comments directed at Sky forward Angel Reese by fans in the crowd,” Peterson tweeted.

The fever responded with a statement from Pacers Sports & Entertainment CEO Mel Raines.
“We are aware of the allegations of inappropriate fan conduct during yesterday’s game and are working closely with the WNBA to complete their investigation,” Raines wrote. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing a safe environment for all WNBA players.”
Not much else is known about this situation at this time.
