A new Pope Banks “Wakes” church rituals: LGBTQ+, multiple gender identity, and social awakening declared “false heroes”
Rome, Vatican City – May 10, 2025
In a move that has shaken the global religious and cultural landscape, the newly elected Pope, Pope Innocent XIV, has issued an uncompromising decree banning all “woke” rituals and social justice-themed practices in Catholic churches worldwide.
The announcement came during his first public address from the Vatican Balcony, where he denounced what he called the “spiritual decline of modern activism masked by theology.”
“There is only one God, one truth, and one creation. Gender confusion, pride parades with sacred pretenses, and the exaltation of victimhood as sanctity will find no altar here,” he proclaimed.
Banned: LGBTQ+ Masses, Pride Theme Precedes, and Gender-Neutral Language
Effective immediately, the Vatican directive targets practices observed in progressive parishes, such as the display of the rainbow flag on altars, gender-neutral blessings, and LGBTQ+-inclusive masses. These rituals, the pope said, are not “expressions of love, but distortions of sacred tradition.”
“We are not political parties. We are not theaters for cultural trends. We are the Church,” the Pope thundered.
Recognition of multiple genders called “antibiblic.”
Even more controversial, the decree requires that all references to multiple gender identities be removed from catechism texts and educational programs. Clergy are prohibited from celebrating gender affirmation ceremonies or using pronouns inconsistent with biological sex in liturgical celebrations.
This edict is already sending shock waves through seminaries and dioceses that had adopted inclusive language and teachings.
“Social Awakening” Labeled as a Secular Religion
Perhaps the most daring part of the decree is how it defines the “cult of social justice” — including themes predicted in the Black Lives Matter movement, the Vegliones on climate change, and liturgies focused on equity — as a “false religion.”
“There are many who now kneel before ideologies, not before God,” the document says, signing Deus Primus, Populus secundus (God before, second persons).
Global outrage meets traditional applause
As expected, liberal theologians, LGBTQ+ activists, and progressive politicians reacted with outrage.
Father Miguel Ramírez, a New York priest, called the gesture a “spiritual betrayal of Christ’s compassion,” while Catholic Twitter exploded with hashtags like #papafuoricontatto and #dioeamore.
Meanwhile, traditionalist groups and conservative Catholics have hailed the movement as a “great purification.” Right-wing commentators have dubbed the new Pope “The Hammer of Heresy.”
Final Thoughts (opinion):
Are you like Pope Innocent XIV in saving the Church from moral relativism, or are you bringing it back to the dark ages? One thing is certain: the war between faith and modernity has reached its most ferocious chapter.
