Speaking to Sky News, Gerber didn’t hold back.
“Tesla is in a crisis,” he declared. “Sales are plummeting. The company’s reputation has just been destroyed by Elon Musk. You literally can’t sell the best product in the market because the CEO is so divisive.”
Gerber argued that Tesla, once a trailblazer in the EV industry, is now suffering from a leadership vacuum as Musk splits his focus between his various ventures, including Twitter (X) and his political endeavors. “Either Elon should come back to Tesla and be the CEO of Tesla and give up his other jobs, or he should focus on the government and keep doing what he is doing—but find a suitable CEO for Tesla.”
Musk Remains Silent—For Now
Musk, who is known for responding swiftly (and often controversially) to critics on Twitter, has yet to publicly address Gerber’s remarks. However, the growing frustration among investors suggests that pressure is mounting for Musk to make a decision—either recommit to Tesla or step aside.
