Olivia Munn slams ‘gluttonous’ female Blue Origin crew going to space: ‘People can’t afford eggs’

Olivia Munn criticized the all-female, star-studded Blue Origin crew for traveling to space as regular Americans struggle to buy eggs.

During Thursday’s episode of “Today With Jenna and Friends,” Jenna Bush Hager and Munn discussed the female crew –– that includes Katy Perry, Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez –– blasting off to space April 14.

Munn seemed hesitant to talk about the upcoming mission and asked, “What are they doing?”

“I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,” Munn, 44, shared, while later wondering, “What are you guys gonna do up in space? What are you doing up there?”

Bush Hager, 43, explained that the total trip is scheduled to last only 11 minutes, and they’ll be spending four of those minutes in space floating around the rocket and admiring earth from afar.

Munn continued looking puzzled and compared the ordeal to their “own” Space Mountain roller coaster ride –– referring to the famed ride in Disney theme parks.

“If you wanna go to space, why do you need to tell us about it, you know?” Munn asked. “It’s just like, go up there, have a good time, come on down.”

The “Newsroom” actress also pointed out that there is “so much money” being spent on the endeavor.

“I know this is probably obnoxious, but like, it’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs,” she added, referring to the significant spike in egg prices over the last few months.

Bush Hager further perplexed Munn when she informed her that the entire crew will all be “going in glam” –– with their hair and makeup done.

Munn looked stunned and quipped, “What? They said this out loud?!”

“What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it’s a bit gluttonous,” Munn admitted. “Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind. What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?”

The actress also wondered “if all that rocket fuel is good” for the environment.

“This is a lot of resources being spent,” she continued.

Bush Hager –– who is friends with King –– tried to steer the topic away from logistics by asking several questions about how the women’s false eyelashes would hold up in anti-gravity conditions.

Perry, King and Sánchez will be joined by former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn to fly with Blue Origin –– the private space company owned by Sánchez’s fiancé, billionaire Jeff Bezos.
