Lando Norris urges Red Bull to stop complaining and improve their performance, as McLaren continues to show impressive form this season.

Norris has called on Red Bull to focus on improving their performance instead of pointing fingers at McLaren’s car.

As McLaren continues to impress early in the season, murmurs have surfaced about whether their car is pushing — or bending — the limits of the sport’s regulations, especially regarding the flexibility of aerodynamic parts.

The debate isn’t new. Last year in Baku, Oscar Piastri’s rear wing drew attention after footage appeared to show it opening slightly at high speeds — a clever design some dubbed a “mini DRS.” While McLaren later made adjustments following FIA intervention, new footage has reignited the discussion, showing the rear wing of McLaren’s MCL39 flexing more than Red Bull’s RB21.

Max Verstappen has acknowledged seeing the video but remained cautious in his comments:
“It’s not my job to make the rules,” he said.

Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko echoed the sentiment:
“It’s the FIA’s responsibility. We’re not the technical stewards, but when you look at the footage, it does raise questions.”

A new technical directive will soon ban front wing flexing as well, with the change coming into effect by Round 9 in Spain — a move Red Bull considers significant.

But Norris isn’t fazed. The British driver stands firm that McLaren is playing fair and suggests Red Bull should stop complaining and start catching up.
“People are making the wrong assumptions about us. We’re fully compliant with the rules. We’ve done a great job, and Red Bull had just as much time to do the same,” Norris said.
“Maybe instead of complaining, they should just improve.”

He continued:
“We follow the rules. That’s all anyone can ask. Red Bull pushes limits in many areas too, let’s not forget.”
“And honestly, most people watching these videos don’t really understand what they’re seeing. They assume it’s just the rear wing moving, but it could be the whole car. People love to speculate — but they really have no idea.”

Can McLaren Seal the Deal in Bahrain?

After a strong showing in practice, even Red Bull’s top brass are starting to sound concerned about Sunday’s race.

“Max matches McLaren for half a lap,” admitted team principal Christian Horner. “But from Turn 10 onwards, we start to lose time.”

Dr. Marko didn’t hold back in his assessment:
“Tire degradation in the heat is killing us. We’ve got some other issues too. Honestly, I think McLaren is going to win — and it could be a dominant one.”

Horner added that even Verstappen’s brilliance may not be enough this time:
“You can’t expect him to pull off another Suzuka miracle here. Even if he takes pole, this track allows overtaking — it’s actually one of the easiest circuits for it.”
