US President Donald Trump said he would not be surprised if billionaire investor George Soros was behind the money pouring in to “pull the strings” of the Central American migrant caravan heading toward the Mexico-US border just before the midterm elections.

According to the Washington Post, answering a reporter’s question when leaving the White House on November 1 about whether he thought billionaire George Soros was behind the funding of the migrant caravan pouring into the US border, President Trump said: “I don’t know who it is, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Many people say it’s him.”
The above comments of the head of the White House were made in the context of billionaire investor Soros being one of the famous figures in the US who received a package containing a bomb last week.
The White House has not yet commented on whether President Trump has evidence to prove that billionaire Soros is funding the flow of Central American migrants.
Billionaire Soros is one of the biggest donors to the Democratic Party. Suspicions that billionaire Soros was behind the funding of the migrant caravan into the US emerged in late March when a wave of migrants headed towards the northern border of the US.

Since mid-October, an estimated thousands of Central American migrants have begun pouring toward the Mexico-US border despite stern warnings from the Trump administration. President Trump has called them a “danger” and vowed not to allow them to cross the border into the US.
The US has deployed about 5,000 troops to the border with Mexico to stop the flow of migrants. However, Mr. Trump warned that he could mobilize up to 15,000 troops to stop this group of people. Observers said that Mr. Trump’s tough statements are also aimed at “scoring points” with voters ahead of the midterm elections on November 6. American voters have long expressed concerns about the social consequences of illegal immigration to the US.
