The girl, who, according to her parents, had saved every penny for months to see her idol race live, was standing at the front of the fence as Verstappen completed his warm-up lap. Before he even went to the podium, the three-time world champion got out of his car, walked straight up to her, and greeted her with a warm smile and a big hug.
Bystanders reported that the girl was visibly emotional and could barely speak. Verstappen reportedly said softly to her, “Thank you for making so much effort to be here. You’re the reason I do my best every day.” The words were overheard by several nearby fans, who immediately shared the moment on social media.
But the most special part was yet to come. After the hug, Verstappen took his racing gloves out of his overalls, signed them on the spot, and gave them to the girl, with the message: “These are for you, so you never forget that dreams come true.”
