Robert Neville (Will Smith) thought he was the last hope of humanity, having discovered a potential remedy in the first film, but his tragic sacrifice left the fate of uncertain humanity.
I am a legend 2 resumes years after the events of the first film, offering fans a new look at a transformed world. In this suite, Anna (Alice Braga), a survivor of the first film, now leads a group of survivors in a fortified community, always seeking a means of repopulating and rebuilding civilization. A new twist: Neville’s heritage – a potential remedy that could reverse the situation – is finally at hand.
But there is a problem: Dark researchers are no longer the only threat. Humanity itself is divided between those who want to save the world and those who want to end it, creating a fatal struggle between ideals and survival. This film widens the universe of I am a legend with a captivating mixture of survival with high issues, emotional drama and breathtaking action. Will Smith resumes his role, bringing an emotional charge to the heritage of Neville.
For her part, Anna takes on a more important role, carrying the torch of the survival of humanity while the world is on the verge of extinction. New mutants, new challenges and deeper moral questions make this sequence not only a question of survival, but also what it means rebuilding on its ashes. Note: 4.5/5 stars an exciting and moving suite which pays homage to the original while directing history towards new and dangerous directions. A must for post-war fans.
