A day care worker in Bainbridge, Georgia, has been arrested following allegations of child abuse. Yvette Thurston, 54, was taken into custody earlier this week and now faces charges of first-degree aggravated battery along with three counts of first-degree child abuse.
Her bond has been set at $44,000 for these charges, and jail records indicate that she has since been released from the Decatur County Jail.

Thurston is employed at Little Blessings Child Care, where the incident reportedly occurred on a toddler’s first day at the facility.
The boy’s father, Cory Weeks, has shared images of his child following the alleged abuse. While specific details surrounding the incident have not been disclosed, investigators confirmed that surveillance footage from the day care played a role in the ongoing investigation.

The child received medical treatment at a local hospital. Representatives from the child care facility have yet to comment on the incident.
