F1 ANNOUNCEMENT🔴 Mick Schumacher To Return To Formula 1 As Contract Negotiations Confirmed

After parting ways with Haas at the end of the 2022 season, Schumacher took on a reserve role at Mercedes.

Mick Schumacher could soon return to Formula 1, as discussions with new entrant Cadillac gain momentum and generate optimism about his future in the sport.

From F1 Exit to WEC Success

After parting ways with Haas at the end of the 2022 season, Schumacher took on a reserve role at Mercedes before shifting focus in 2024 to a full-time World Endurance Championship campaign with Alpine.

His performances have been solid, but the lure of F1 remains strong. That ambition may now become reality with the Cadillac F1 team preparing for its 2026 debut.

A Strong Showing in Miami

During the Miami Grand Prix weekend, Schumacher was seen mingling in the paddock, notably alongside close friend Esteban Ocon. He also made a point of visiting his old Haas team, raising eyebrows about his presence and potential return.

According to SPORT1, a key moment came when Schumacher initiated a private conversation with F1 legend Mario Andretti—without an agent or manager present. The gesture impressed Andretti, who was reportedly “particularly impressed by the fact that the German sought the dialogue himself.”

Cadillac’s Options and Schumacher’s Chances

Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon has confirmed early talks with several drivers. Among them is Sergio Perez, who remains a fan favorite and strong candidate for one of the two available seats.

While no formal contracts have been signed, Schumacher’s initiative and pedigree—being the son of Michael Schumacher—make him a compelling option. He’s still facing stiff competition, but the possibility of a return is more tangible now than at any point in the past two years.

As Cadillac prepares for its 2026 entry, all eyes are on who will lead the charge behind the wheel. And Mick Schumacher just might be at the top of that list.
