Elon Musk has issued a brutal five-word response after Bill Gates claimed that he was ‘killing’ children.

Musk’s role within government has proven to be controversial ever since he was appointed as the head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) earlier this year.

While not technically a government department, Musk was said to act as an outside advisor to the Trump administration on federal spending.

The SpaceX founder has since taken a step back from his role within the government, but when his appointment was first announced he vowed to slash the federal budget – although most cuts have since been made by canceling contracts and making mass layoffs.

Speaking to CBS Mornings, the co-founder of Microsoft warned that he believed the cuts being made by DOGE would be at the expense of two million lives.

Speaking about his charity work to fund life saving vaccines to save children’s lives around the world, Gates said: “Now with these cuts if they’re not reversed, it’ll go to over six million dying. So, instead of [the figures] going down, it’ll go back up.”

The reporter replied: “Wow, so it’s a difference of two million lives.”

In response, Gates said: “Absolutely.”

This discussion took place during an interview where Gates shared his plans to donate 99% of his wealth.

Pledging to part with his money before his death, Gates previously said: “People will say a lot of things about me when I die, but I am determined that ‘he died rich’ will not be one of them.

“There are too many urgent problems to solve for me to hold onto resources that could be used to help people.”

It seems that Musk isn’t best pleased by this interview after he took to social media to respond.

Taking to his own platform X, formerly Twitter, the billionaire wrote: “Gates is a huge liar.”

The Tesla boss went on to share a video from an appearance he made on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, where he called out Gates.

In the interview, Musk said: “Known Epstein clients who are obviously extremely powerful, powerful politically and very wealthy, are Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, and Reid Hoffman, and some others too but those three.”

Gates has previously addressed his connection with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal earlier this year, Gates said: “In retrospect, I was foolish to spend any time with him. And he, sort of, got time with various people by spending time with other people.

“So yes, I think I was quite stupid. I thought it would help me with global health philanthropy. In fact, it failed to do that it was just a huge mistake.”

For those who didn’t know Ashley St. Clair from her conservative children’s books or writing at right-wing outlet the Babylon Bee, she’s a name that’s been thrust into the limelight in February 2025.

The Make America Great Again influencer shocked the world on February 14, spectacularly claiming she’d secretly given birth to Elon Musk‘s 13th child some five months ago.

Giving the world’s richest man a Valentine’s Day present that no one was expecting, the media is now obsessed with the ‘MAGA Momma’ and her relationship with the tech mogul.

Musk is yet to officially confirm that St. Clair’s bouncing bundle of joy is his, instead coming under fire for giving a one-word response to the allegations without addressing them directly.

Now, a series of seemingly NSFW messages between the pair have leaked, fuelling the fires that there’s more to the story.

St. Clair has already discussed how the pair reportedly met, saying Musk slid into her DMs back in 2023.

A series of ‘spicy’ messages have been shared by Page Six, like when Musk posted “420” in February 2023 and St. Clair seemingly winked toward sexual acts when she responded, “69.”

St. Clair then posted a screenshot in June 2023, referring to Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin ordering his troops to pull back.

The billionaire tech bro wrote: “The ‘pull out’ method. Speaking personally, I obviously prefer the pull in method.”

St. Clair again responded, this time with ‘BONK’ horny jail meme.

This was followed by Musk discussing a ‘d*ck pic bot’ with the right-wing Libs of TikTok account, as St. Clair chimed in with: “‘Our d*ck pic bot’ 💀.”

These timelines match up with St. Clair claiming Musk slid into her DMs in May 2023, although the exact nature of their DMs hasn’t been revealed.

Things seem to have been fine between the pair until recently, and as late as February 10, St. Clair and Musk were exchanging pleasantries on X.

When someone criticized the powers the Department of Government Efficiency has, St. Clair wrote: “What the f**k do you think Elon Musk is going to do with your social security number??? Tweet it???? Open a line of credit you don’t have??????” Musk reposted her thoughts and added: “Seriously 🤣🤣 And for damn sure, I’m 1000% more trustworthy than untold numbers of deep state bureaucrats and fraudsters who may be misusing your SSN right now.”

Musk hasn’t spoken about St. Clair’s accusations or publicly acknowledged the idea he could be a father for the 13th time. In a now-deleted tweet, St. Clair asked for Musk to respond to her, and while she’s given her side of the story to the New York Post, the internet is dying to know Musk’s stance on the whole thing.

While it’s true that Musk has been pretty busy heading up the DOGE, there were raised eyebrows when he was suspiciously quiet on X and claimed he was spending the weekend working on Grok. St. Clair hasn’t posted on X since February 16, while Musk has returned to his usual posting about ‘corruption’ in the government and continues to dodge (DOGE) the elephant in the room.

And he’s had some choice words for advertisers who’ve paused spending on his social media platform X over concerns of antisemitism.

On Wednesday, speaking an event in New York, he apologised for a post from his own account that some considered antisemitic, and also accused companies who are boycotting advertising on X of ‘trying to blackmail’ him.

Companies and brands like Disney, Apple and IBM stopped advertising on X this month after a report by liberal advocacy group Media Matters said ads were appearing alongside pro-Nazi content and white nationalist posts.

Asked about the advertising boycott on stage at the The New York Times DealBook Summit, he did not mince his words.

“I don’t want them to advertise,” Musk said, adding: “If someone is going to blackmail me with advertising or money go f**k yourself”.

He also appeared to reference Disney boss Bob Iger, who had appeared at the summit, saying: “Go. F**k. Yourself. Is that clear? Hey Bob, if you’re in the audience, that’s how I feel.”

The SpaceX boss said that the advertising boycott is “going to kill the company”, and BBC News reports he added: “The whole world will know those advertisers killed the company, and we will document it in great detail.”

Earlier this week Musk visited Israel and toured a kibbutz which was attacked by Hamas militants.

He met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and also joined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a tour of the Kfar Aza kibbutz, near the Gaza frontier, which was attacked by Hamas militants in early October.

X is suing Media Matters, saying the report it released would “drive advertisers from the platform and destroy X Corp.”

Media Matters has branded the lawsuit “frivolous”, with the organisation’s president Angelo Carusone saying in a statement: “This is a frivolous lawsuit meant to bully X’s critics into silence.”
