In a new twist of controversy, Elon Musk has once again ignited social media after taking aim at the long-running daytime talk show The View — and the backlash has been immediate and fiery.
On Tuesday morning, Musk shocked his X (formerly Twitter) followers by calling for a boycott of The View, describing it as a “meeting place for stupid women” in a now-viral post that has triggered fierce debate.
“Stop watching The View. It’s just a meeting place for stupid women pushing stale narratives,” Musk wrote. “This kind of content is toxic for any form of real dialogue.”
Within hours, the entire cast of The View — including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin — hit back hard on live television.
“If intelligence were measured by emotional maturity, Elon Musk would be in kindergarten,” Goldberg shot back during the show’s opening segment.
“This is the man who named his child after a password generator. He’s not exactly the poster boy for rational discourse,” Behar quipped.
Sunny Hostin chimed in, calling Musk’s comments “sexist, juvenile, and part of a dangerous pattern of targeting outspoken women in media.”
Farah Griffin, a former Trump staffer and now a more centrist voice on the panel, added: “Criticism is fair game. Misogyny is not.”
Social Media Divided
Predictably, social media erupted in response, with hashtags like #BoycottTheView, #BoycottElon, and #StupidWomen all trending within hours. While some of Musk’s followers praised him for “speaking truth,” others accused him of “deliberate misogyny” and “weaponizing his influence.”
Not Musk’s First Media Feud
This isn’t the first time Musk has picked a fight with mainstream media. He’s previously clashed with CNN, the New York Times, and late-night hosts — but this marks his most direct attack on a show predominantly hosted by women.
Media analysts are now debating whether this is a PR stunt, an ideological battle, or just another chapter in Musk’s ongoing war against “wokeness.”
