🔴 The F1 community shocking: Immediately after the Belgian GP, Max Verstappen, instead of going to extravagant parties or to appear on international television, returned to a small primary school in Limburg in silence-where he handed the prize money of 45 million euros to build a better school for the children. He also left a moving message: “Every success starts here”. The whole of the Netherlands was moved and the world was surprised.
Immediately after the Belgian Grand Prix, where he again proved his superiority on the track, Max Verstappen opted for a totally different way than expected. Instead of immersing himself in Glitter and Glamor, he completed all the invitations for parties, media performances and international shows. In silence and without any media supervision, he returned to the modest primary school in Limburg where his boy’s dream once started.
The school, located in a small village near his parental home, played a crucial role in Verstappen’s early life. Here he drew racing cars in his notebooks as a child and told his teacher that he would later become “the fastest in the world”. Nobody then suspected that the boy would ever grow into a multiple world champion in Formula 1.
What makes the event even more impressive is what Verstappen did there. He handed over the full prize money of 45 million euros to the school management, with the desire that it would be used to renew the infrastructure, to hire extra teachers and offer extra support children from the region. The plan also includes a technology and science wing, where students can discover their passion- just like Max once did with racing.
On a simple chalkboard in the main building, Verstappen left a message that hit the hearts of many:
“Every success starts here.”
The reactions did not take long. Former teachers and fellow students spoke with tears about their memories of young Max. “He was quiet, but focused. Always racing. And now he is doing this for the new generation … it’s incredible,” said a former teacher emotionally.
The news spread rapidly about social media and news websites worldwide. Thousands of messages came in from fans, parents, teachers and even rival drivers. Many praised not only for his talent, but especially for his character and humility.
International sports media, from BBC to ESPN, heads: “Verstappen shows true greatness outside the track.” Within a few hours the action was seen as one of the most human and inspiring moments in modern F1 history.
However, it was not a publicity stunt for Max himself. In a short response he said:
“Without this place I could never have dreamed, let alone win. This is my way to say thank you.”
With this act, Max Verstappen proved that true champions not only win on the circuit, but especially in the heart of the people.
