Christian Horner has revealed as a deal with the partnership between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc if she surprised Ferrari.
Horner was fired by Red Bull last Tuesday, ending a 20-year association with the Milton Keynes team as a sports director.
The 51 -year -old pilot was honored with all the main honors of Red Bull, with a total of 14 drivers and builders won during this period.
Red Bull’s mid -season announcement was a surprise, although the team suffered a significant decline in recent weeks.
Horner has been replaced by Racing Bulls executive director Laurent Mekies, and will now enjoy a decline in his condition by the end of 2025.
This means that he will not be able to take another position in F1 until next season.
In recent weeks, uncertainty has increased by the position of the Ferrari team chief, Frederic Vassur, and Horner was mentioned as a possible substitute.
Normally, Scuderia promotes internally, or at least names those who already have ties with the team, as in the case of Vassur, which means it is not yet known if the Englishman would be a realistic candidate in case of vacancy.
But Horner has commented as a deal with current Ferrari, Hamilton and Leclerc riders.
Both will try to win the 2026 World Championship if Scuderia builds a car capable of fighting for victory, which did not happen this season.
In an interview with Talksport in December, Horner said: “The reality is that Max [Verstappen] is expected to win.
A team like Ferrari, for example, will have two riders who will lose points next year. Which horse are you cheering for?
Undoubtedly, Horner would have preferred Ferrari’s approach this season.
Sometimes points have been deducted from Hamilton and Leclerc, as in the Miami Grand Prix, when they were asked to change position twice, even though they could have achieved a better result.
However, Ferrari is in second place in the 222 -point builder championship, comfortably followed by Red Bull in fourth place with 172.
Max Verstappen added impressive 165 of these 172 points, while his teammates Liam Lawson and his replacement Yuki Tsunoda simply failed to extract the highest performance from the second car.
Verstappen has also complained a few times about the car’s handling and is supposed to negotiate with Mercedes to join them in 2026.
