A viral moment at Coldplay’s Boston concert has unexpectedly thrust Astronomer CEO Andy Byron into the spotlight, igniting online speculation about a possible office issue and sparking scrutiny of his past professional behavior.
Coldplay’s Boston concert appears to have uncovered a top-notch tech manager, and his rumored lover has the audience buzzing after his unusual reaction to the show’s “Kiss Cam” segment.

As the camera pans to the couple, the man ducks for cover while the woman walks away.
The man was later identified as Andy Byron, CEO of the data orchestration company Astronomer. The woman with him—seen in his embrace—was Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s chief people officer.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin humorously addressed the moment, telling the crowd, “Uh-oh, what? You’re either having an affair or you’re really shy.”
“Chris Martin does God’s work, [sic]” One internet user praised the singer’s unscripted observation. “Imagine you’re caught by Coldplay.” Another added.

Social media users have echoed Chris Martin’s lighthearted yet suggestive comment since the video went viral. “He has an affair… [sic],” one person wrote. “You’re definitely hiding something, for sure,” another added.
One user claimed to recognize and post the couple immediately, “Oh my god, who looks like Astronomer-CEO Andy Byron and Astronomer’s Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot?
Once it was confirmed that Byron is a married man, another user asked, “I wonder where he told his wife he would be?”

When the footage of the moment quickly went viral, internet users and social media users began scrutinizing the duo and fueling public interest in Byron’s 2023 appointment as CABOTS’s executive. In his explanation, he said:
“Kristin’s extraordinary leadership and deep experience in talent management, employee engagement, and people scale will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.
Now, these comments appear in a completely different light. Online commentary on the matter ranges from humorous to incredulous. “This fraudulent scandal is the gift that always gives… to the lawyers, meaning their spouses should now thank the Boulevard newspapers,” one user wrote.
Others were quick to notice that the scandal might not be either. “Looks like she has a wedding ring here too?” an eagle-eyed viewer noted.
Massachusetts court documents, however, show that Cabot and her ex-husband Kenneth Thornby filed for divorce in 2018, and they finalized it in 2022. It’s unclear if she’s been remarried since, though records show the former couple share a son, as Thornby was instructed to pay the child benefit.
As suspected, many accepted Byron’s marriage. His wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, initially removed Byon’s name from her Facebook profile before eventually deactivating the account altogether. His Instagram profile was also deactivated.
Megan reportedly acted quickly after her social feeds were flooded with comments about her husband’s viral video and HR leadership at the show. Finally, Megan’s internet users knew they were on her side.
While Byon’s online profiles have disappeared, the Cabots remain publicly visible. His professional bio reads: “An influential leader and a fearless changemaker, I lead by example and build trust with employees at all levels, from CEOs to managers and assistants.”
As the alleged matter gained public attention, scrutiny of Byon’s professional background returned, especially during his time in the cybersecurity field.
According to one of the information in April 2018 titled “Rent Fake, the published synopsis Stababirgs Roil Softbank supported the published synopsis was identified by former employees as combative and venomous in leadership.
“Several former employees said Byron would go after employees who disagreed with him, including threatening to fire them,” the article stated. “They couldn’t challenge him,” one former employee said.
Starting in 2017, Byron served as Cybereason’s Chief Revenue Officer, working there for over two years, as his LinkedIn account was now deactivated. During this time, his management style led to many employees leaving. In response, he reported loyal sales reps from his former company, Fuzze.
“We started in the right direction and were very successful,” said a former team member, “but with the pressure to increase headcount and revenue, it was never enough to say we were a fast-growing company. We had to grow faster.” The employee described the environment as “sad.”
Another employee who was still employed by Cyberason at the time of the article’s publication noted, “People used to love the company. Now they hate it.”
Byron denied allegations of abusive behavior and said some people were simply disappointed in his decisions.
Neither Byron nor Cabot have spoken out on this matter, and Byron’s wife has chosen to remain silent about what she made clear by her decision to deactivate her social media sites.
