In an exclusive interview on Fox News on April 15, host Rachel Campos-Duffy asked him about the proudest thing since taking office for his second term. President Trump first talked about the administration’s success in dealing with the border crisis.
“I think what people are realizing now is that the border is 100% secure. It’s 100%. It’s perfect now… but it’s going to get better. And by the way, we want people to come in, but they have to come in legally and everyone agrees to that,” Mr. Trump said.

Securing the border was one of Mr Trump’s key campaign pledges, and since he took office, illegal border crossings have declined.
A new report from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) shows there were fewer apprehensions at the southern border in March, compared to just the first two days of March 2024 under the administration of former President Joe Biden.
This is the second consecutive month that the US Border Patrol has recorded its lowest daily number of apprehensions nationwide in history, according to the report.
In the interview, President Trump also shared his pride in the administration’s economic successes, including its tariff policy .
“We’re making an enormous amount of money collecting billions and hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs from other countries that have been taken from the United States for decades. And it’s time we don’t allow that to happen,” he told Campos-Duffy.
Additionally, President Trump said he was “excited” about many accomplishments, citing congressional efforts to pass a “big, great bill” that included tax and regulatory cuts.
Mr. Trump took office on January 20 and his second term will be 100 days old on April 30.
