Television host Jimmy Kimmel appeared on Tuesday in connection with the destruction of Tesla property and was greeted with applause from his audience after mentioning the “catastrophic” drop in Tesla’s stock price.
“Our co-chairman, Elon Musk, sent a Space-X vehicle to bring the astronauts back, and when they landed, he fired them immediately after landing,” Kimmel joked in his monologue.
“Tesla stock has fallen sharply, almost catastrophically,” he said, as the audience briefly interrupted his monologue and erupted in cheers at the mention of Tesla stock’s crash.
The cuts in government spending and layoffs at the Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have sparked outrage, apparently leading to acts of vandalism against Tesla dealerships and cars in protest.
“People have damaged Tesla vehicles, new Tesla vehicles. Please don’t damage Tesla vehicles, never damage Tesla vehicles,” Kimmel said, looking into the camera and pausing to emphasize his sarcasm.
Musk responded to Kimmel’s jokes about X by saying, “He’s a really unfunny idiot.”
Tesla’s CEO spoke out about the brutality his company is facing.
“It was really a shock to me to find out that there is such a level of real hate and violence from the left,” Musk said in an exclusive interview on “Hannity” on Tuesday.
“I thought the left, the Democrats, were supposed to be the party of compassion, the party of caring. Instead, they’re setting cars on fire. They’re burning down car dealerships. They’re shooting at car dealerships. They’re just destroying Teslas,” he continued, despite the lack of evidence regarding the political affiliation of the alleged suspects.
