The new biography reveals that Elon Musk’s love affair with peach Amber Heard was short but passionate, leaving a lot of hurt for the tech billionaire.
The book titled Elon Musk by author Walter Isaacson describes the relationship between Elon Musk and Amber Heard from 2016 to 2017, from when they started dating until they fell into a “dark spiral”. The author also cites the sharing of insiders and Elon Musk’s relatives about this love.
According to the content of the biography, their love story began when Amber starred in the 2012 film Machete Kills, where Elon Musk was invited to be a mentor. The film is about an inventor who wants to create a society on the space station that orbits the Earth.
According to Walter Isaacson, in 2013 – a year after meeting on the set, Amber Heard visited Elon Musk’s company SpaceX and the businessman drove her in his Tesla.
In May 2016, Amber and Elon Musk met again at the Met Gala fashion festival. A month later, the actor filed for divorce from actor Johnny Depp. Walter Isaacson wrote that their first appointments were mostly about work: Amber flew to visit the Tesla electric car factory in California to surprise Elon on his birthday, and Elon went to Australia to visit the camerawoman Aquaman. The SpaceX mogul also took the Hollywood peach girl to Cape Canaveral – where he is scheduled to launch the Falcon 9 rocket. Amber said it was the most interesting date she had ever had in her life.
Amber is attracted to the image of “a rocket engineer” while Elon loves her charm and personality. They also share a passion for the weird things in life.
“I guess I can be seen as an eccentric to some people and also a hot girl to others,” Amber joked with Walter, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author, in her biography, according to People and Vanity Fair.
The author said that during the time they were in love, Amber Heard spent two months designing and sewing a costume to cosplay the character Mercy in the Overwatch game that Elon Musk loved.
Elon Musk confirmed that Amber once cosplayed the character Mercy in a tweet posted on Tuesday, after the biography was released. The billionaire posted a photo of his ex-girlfriend dressed up in hot fashion with the caption: “She dressed up as Mercy. It’s amazing.”
However, their love story did not have a beautiful ending. Elon Musk’s relatives and friends don’t like Amber Heard. “Her playful personality and chaos attracted Elon Musk. But Elon’s brother and friends hate her so much that they no longer find it difficult to get along with Justine (the billionaire’s first wife),” the author wrote. The book explains that the people around Elon hated Amber because she brought too much drama into the tech entrepreneur’s life in a year-long relationship.
Kimbal Musk, Elon’s younger brother, shared in the biography: “She’s so toxic. A nightmare.” Kimbal further commented, “It’s sad that he falls in love with people who are really not good for him. They’re beautiful, no doubt, but they have a very dark side and Elon knows they’re toxic.”
Musk’s chief of staff, Sam Teller, compared her to the comic book villain: “She’s like the Joker in Batman. She has no purpose or purpose in life other than chaos. She went up by destabilizing everything.”
Singer Grimes, who shares three children with Elon Musk, also described Amber as a “chaotic demon” when chatting with the book’s author.
According to the biography, Amber and Elon used to “stay up all night arguing, and then he couldn’t get up until the next afternoon.” They broke up in July 2017 and Walter Isaacson wrote that the summer of 2017 was “the most hellish period of Elon’s life”. They got back together after five tumultuous months. However, after a trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in December 2017, the two had a heated argument. Their love affair ended not long after.
Sharing with the author of the biography, Elon recalled feeling “extreme pain” when breaking up. “It’s brutal,” Elon confirmed. The billionaire also opened up about his weaknesses: “Because I’m just a fool for love. I’m usually a fool, but especially when I’m in love.”
At the time of the breakup, Elon Musk also shared in the newspaper that he was in love and broke his heart because he was abandoned by Amber Heard. “She abandoned me rather than I ended up with her, I think. I was passionately in love and then deeply hurt,” Elon Musk confided in Rolling Stone magazine in November 2017.
