🚨 BAD NEWS: Max Verstappen’s LEAKED Red Bull CONTRACT CLAUSE MIGHT SHAKE EVERYTHING UP!

Max Verstappen, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, could potentially leave Red Bull Racing during the 2025 season due to a performance-based exit clause in his contract, despite being signed with the team until 2028. This revelation comes amid a challenging start to the season for Red Bull, highlighted by Verstappen’s disappointing sixth-place finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he struggled with slow pit stops and  car balance issues, causing him to slip to third in the Drivers’ Championship behind Oscar Piastri and with George Russell and Charles Leclerc closing in.

The exit clause reportedly allows Verstappen to terminate his contract if he is outside the top three in the Drivers’ Championship after a significant portion of the season has passed. This clause is not unusual for top drivers, as contracts often include performance-related conditions to protect both the driver and the team. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko acknowledged that while every top driver has such clauses, they are “tuned differently,” and currently, it is not a pressing topic. However, Marko indicated that the summer break could be the critical time when Verstappen’s exit clause might become a serious discussion point if the team’s performance does not improve.

Team Principal Christian Horner also confirmed that performance clauses are standard in contracts with top drivers like Verstappen. He emphasized that as long as Red Bull provides a competitive car, the situation remains stable. However, the team’s recent struggles have raised concerns internally. Marko expressed “great concerns” that Verstappen might leave if Red Bull fails to make rapid progress, especially since the team’s current performance level is insufficient to contend for the World Championship. He stressed the need for a stable and competitive car, not just occasional wins under unusual conditions, to retain Verstappen’s commitment.

The possibility of Verstappen’s departure has sparked speculation about his future destination, with Mercedes and Aston Martin frequently mentioned as potential suitors. These teams are seen as viable options should Verstappen decide to activate his exit clause, especially given Red Bull’s recent decline from dominance since mid-2024. The situation is further complicated by the upcoming 2026 power unit regulation changes, where Red Bull will become an OEM for the first time, introducing uncertainty about their future competitiveness. This transition could influence Verstappen’s decision, as he may seek a team with a more assured winning package.

Fans and analysts have debated the implications of Verstappen leaving Red Bull, noting that his departure could significantly impact the team’s performance and stability. Unlike Mercedes, which has a clear succession plan, Red Bull may face challenges in replacing a driver of Verstappen’s caliber. The team’s internal dynamics and driver lineup could be disrupted, raising questions about who would fill the leading role if Verstappen exits.

In summary, Max Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull includes a performance-based exit clause that could allow him to leave the team mid-season if he falls outside the top three in the Drivers’ Championship. With Red Bull’s current struggles and strong competition from rivals, this clause is becoming a focal point of discussion within the team. Both Helmut Marko and Christian Horner have acknowledged the clause’s existence but remain hopeful that improvements will secure Verstappen’s future at Red Bull. However, the summer break in 2025 is expected to be a decisive moment for this issue, with Mercedes and Aston Martin poised as potential destinations should Verstappen choose to move on.
