Elon Musk: “THE CHEAPEST Tesla LAPTOP OMEGA!!” – The tech world is in a frenzy after Tesla CEO Elon Musk made the surprise announcement of the company’s entry into the laptop market. At an impromptu presentation at Tesla’s design studio in Palo Alto, Musk unveiled the newest member of the Tesla family: the Tesla OMEGA laptop , which he said is “not only the cheapest Tesla ever,” but also a device that will “turn the entire PC market on its head.”
What’s special about the OMEGA is that it will be available starting at $799 – a price that’s almost unimaginable in the premium laptop category. Despite the comparatively low price, Musk promises that the laptop will set new standards in terms of performance, battery life, and sustainability.
“We asked ourselves: If Tesla can build cars that accelerate faster than supercars and are also emission-free, why can’t we build a laptop that is more powerful and at the same time more energy efficient than anything currently on the market?” Musk explained with a broad grin.
Technically, the OMEGA will be equipped with a processor specially developed by Tesla, based on AI-optimized computing architectures. It is supported by a neural net engine that automatically adapts to user behavior, thus minimizing energy consumption. The display—a 16-inch OLED panel—offers a 4K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, ideal for both creative work and gaming.
Another highlight: the battery life. Musk claims that the OMEGA lasts “up to 24 hours with normal use” and can be charged to 80 percent in just 30 minutes – thanks to UltraCharge technology borrowed from Tesla’s automotive technology.
But that’s not all. The laptop is made with a casing made of recycled aluminum from old Tesla vehicles and is produced entirely CO₂-neutrally. “Sustainability isn’t just a feature—it’s our core principle,” Musk emphasized.
The unveiling of the OMEGA immediately sparked a wave of reactions. While die-hard Tesla fans are already planning to pre-order, industry experts are cautious. Many are questioning whether Tesla can actually build the large-scale production and support structures for laptops – a market dominated for decades by giants like Apple, Dell, and Lenovo.
Musk didn’t let criticism go unanswered: “We were also told we couldn’t build successful cars. And now we’re the most valuable automaker in the world. We were told we couldn’t reuse rockets. Now they’re flying every week. So… just wait and see.”
According to the announcement, the Tesla OMEGA laptop will be available in the US starting in spring 2026, with a gradual rollout in other markets, including Europe and Asia. Pre-orders will reportedly be available via the Tesla website in just a few weeks.
Whether the OMEGA actually delivers on Musk’s promises remains to be seen. One thing is certain, however: With this move, Tesla is expanding its empire into another industry—and once again making the world talk about Elon Musk.
