Trump accused the former US President Obama leading the conspiracy to “steal the election” in 2016, calling for punishment of “treason”.
A few days after posting a video simulating the scene of former President Barack Obama was arrested, President Donald Trump on July 22 continued to promote his predecessor to find a way to make Americans misunderstand about the 2016 election results, hindering him from his first term in 2017-2020.

In 2016, in the last days of Obama’s second term, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) concluded that Russia tried to intervene the US election with the trend of supporting Mr. Trump to win. The US government then expelled a series of Russian diplomats and imposed sanctions on Moscow.
A report from the 2017 US intelligence community published a detailed campaign of Russia on the US election. However, in 2019, the report of the Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller concluded that there was no sufficient evidence to confirm that Mr. Trump’s campaign was colluded with Russia, but still accused Russia to interfere with the election “in a deep and systematic manner”.

Mr. Trump always recognizes these surveys as a political attack to weaken his power. The US president recalled recent statements from the National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard and accused the Obama government of committing crimes.
“They tried to cheat on the election, and they were discovered. They deserve to have taken serious consequences,” Trump said.
The tensions targeting Mr. Obama started when Gabbard on July 18 announced that they had found new evidence of “fake news about Russia”, showing that former President Obama and his national security cabinet “faked and politicized intelligence information to create a prerequisite for the deposit campaign for many years against President Trump”.
After that, Gabbard continued to post a series of articles on social networks, some hinting that she had pushed the US Department of Justice to prosecute Mr. Obama. She said that surveys on Russia intervened US election in 2016 were treason. “Their goal is to overthrow President Trump and reverse the will of the American people,” Gabbard argued.
Obama’s spokesman refused the allegations, saying they were “so absurd that they were forced to speak.”
Obama’s side said that the allegations of “ridiculous strange” were just a “weak effort to distract the public”, referring to the US Department of Justice did not publish the file of Jeffries Epstein.
“There is nothing of the documents published last week to weaken the conclusion that has been widely recognized that Russia sought to interfere in the 2016 US presidential election and did not successfully manipulate any vote,” Obama spokesman said. “These conclusions have been confirmed in the 2020 report by the Senate Intelligence Commission, by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, when it was Senator, head.”
