In a recent Instagram story shared by Grass League, Spiranac tantalizingly hinted at her comeback, saying, “Maybe, maybe not. You’re going to have to follow Grass League to make sure that you are up to date with all of the fun surprises that we have planned for you.”
However, she is not planning to rejoin the LPGA Tour; instead, she is set to join a “high-stakes, par-three league” with an innovative format. Spiranac revealed that the league consists of 11 franchises, offering a two-person team scramble over 36 holes with events open to both men and women, amateurs, and pros alike.
Grass League, the new golf league that Spiranac is joining, has already garnered attention for its unique approach. Unlike traditional tours like the PGA Tour or LPGA Tour, Grass League aims to bring a fresh perspective to the sport, attracting both established players and rising talents.
Speaking about the league, Spiranac expressed her excitement, saying, “All you have to be [to play] is 18 years or older and an absolute stick of a golfer. It’s kind of cool because it’s played exclusively on par three golf courses, so it kind of evens out the playing field, bringing in this cool dynamic.”
The inaugural event of the Grass League is scheduled to take place on August 30th-31st at Goat Hill Park in Oceanside, California, promising an electrifying start to Spiranac’s return to competitive golf.
