The FIA suspends a key figure before the Canada Grand Prix after unauthorized comments on Max Verstappen and George Russell

The governing entity of Formula 1, the FIA, has suspended an important figure just before the Canada Grand Prix.
After a brief pause after the Spanish Grand Prix, the F1 returned this weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.
Pilots such as Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris arrive at the race as favorites to win due to the current domain of McLaren.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen, George Russell and Charles Leclerc expect to surprise.
Prior to the race, the FIA announced the suspension of the Career Derek Warwick.
As reported by the BBC, Warwick was withdrawn from its function as commissioner this weekend “after recent comments not authorized to the media.”
It was stated that Warwick had declared that the penalty of 10 seconds imposed on Verstappen for his collision with Russell in Barcelona was “correct.”
On a betting website, Warwick said: “Should he have done what he did in Curve five with George Russell? Absolutely not. Did he receive a penalty for that? Yes.
“It seems to me that, although he threw himself inward, then he turned away from George, but the impulse pushed him against George. He is absolutely bad and the FIA did well to give him the penalty.”
Warwick will be replaced, as reported, by the Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi, who will officiate from the remote operations center in Geneva during the rest of the event.
A statement from the FIA said: “After the discussion, Derek acknowledges that his comments were little successful in his role as FIA commissioner and has apologized.
“Derek will resume his functions as a commissioner in the next Austrian Grand Prix.”
In response, the former F1 pilot and current commentator of Sky Sports, Martin Brundle, wrote on social networks: “Derek Warwick is one of the most genuine and passionate runners and corridors that I have met. He is an authentic and simple guy. He has done a lot for the young pilots and motoring in general, not less as a Commissioner of the FIA.
“It has all my support and friendship to my last breath.”
