The Trump administration is following through on its promise to shut down former President Joe Biden’s disastrous immigration loopholes, and now, over half a million migrants are getting the message loud and clear.
The Department of Homeland Security has begun sending termination notices to approximately 530,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, and Nicaragua who were allowed into the United States under Biden’s so-called parole program.
That program allowed migrants to stay for two years and obtain work permits, provided they could find a U.S. sponsor, NBC News reported.
But it is officially over, thanks to the Supreme Court siding with President Donald Trump last month.
The Justice Department made an emergency request to end the policy, and the high court agreed. The DHS immediately began the process of rolling it back, starting with the issuance of notices.
In a statement, the Trump administration blasted the Biden-era policy for flooding the country with “poorly vetted” migrants. Officials stated that the program posed a serious threat to national security and had blatantly abused executive authority.
“This was never about compassion,” one DHS official said. “This was about pushing through mass migration with as little oversight as possible. It ends now.”
Although Biden’s team claimed migrants were screened and had to show financial sponsorship, Trump officials say the program lacked real enforcement and opened the door to abuse.
With the parole status now revoked, these individuals are on notice that they are no longer protected, and their legal permission to remain in the United States is ending.
The move is part of a broader effort by President Trump to restore order, uphold immigration law, and dismantle the open-border agenda.
While Democrats called the parole program a humanitarian necessity, Trump made it clear it was nothing more than a backdoor amnesty scheme designed to bypass Congress and overwhelm the system.
Now the tide has turned. The Supreme Court’s ruling marks a significant win for border security and every American who believes in the rule of law.
And for the 530,000 migrants who came here under Biden’s failed policy, the free ride is over.
“Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) began sending termination notices to aliens paroled into the United States (U.S.) under a Biden-era parole program for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV),” the Department of Homeland Security said in a press release.
“The messages informed the illegal aliens both their parole is terminated, and their parole-based employment authorization is revoked – effective immediately. These notices will be sent to the email addresses provided by the parolees,” it said.
“The Biden Administration lied to America. They allowed more than half a million poorly vetted aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela and their immediate family members to enter the United States through these disastrous parole programs; granted them opportunities to compete for American jobs and undercut American workers; forced career civil servants to promote the programs even when fraud was identified; and then blamed Republicans in Congress for the chaos that ensued and the crime that followed,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said.
“Ending the CHNV parole programs, as well as the paroles of those who exploited it, will be a necessary return to common-sense policies, a return to public safety, and a return to America First,” she added.
“Starting in 2022, the Biden administration released over 500,000 poorly vetted aliens into the U.S. under the CHNV parole program. President Trump canceled this program, and the Supreme Court upheld this cancellation on May 30, 2025. DHS is now notifying parole recipients if they have not obtained lawful status to remain in the U.S., they must leave immediately,” the DHS press release continued.
“DHS encourages any illegal alien residing in the U.S. to self-deport with the CBP Home Mobile App. If they do so, they will receive travel assistance and a $1,000 exit bonus upon arrival in their home country,” it said.
