ESPN treated Angel Reese poorly after a poor shooting night against the New York Liberty on Thursday night.
Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered a second consecutive loss to open the season, having previously suffered a loss in their season opener against Caitling Clark and the Indiana Fever.
He failed to make a single field goal during Thursday’s loss, something ESPN noted in an update on its app when they criticized the former LSU star for his “historically poor shooting.”
The global sports leader also noted that Reese tied a WNBA record for the most misses from within four feet of the rim in the last 10 years.
“Angel Reese is 0 for 7 from within four feet of the rim to match the most misses from that distance in the WNBA over the past 10 seasons,” the announcement read.
Reese missed his next attempt and finished 0-for-8. Although he did grab 12 rebounds, several of them came off his own mistakes, and he also committed five turnovers.

The Sky briefly held a 12-9 lead over NY on the night, but Liberty put together an 8-0 run to take a 20-12 lead and a 53-32 advantage going into halftime, eventually winning 99-74.
Chicago couldn’t find any consistency on offense, shooting a mediocre 31.2 percent in the first half, and Reese didn’t score until just six minutes remained in the game.
His two-point total marked a career low.
For Reese, it was a night of frequent blocks, steals near the basket, and, overall, her own mistakes. But the Sky are hoping to improve their performance when they face the Los Angeles Sparks this Sunday.
Tony Romo (Photo via CBS)
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn’t the most popular player on television. That was clear as he called the wild-card game between the Broncos and Bills for CBS on Sunday.
Romo, who has done little to hide how much he admires Buffalo QB Josh Allen, praised the MVP favorite as he tried to lead his team to the Divisional Round.
Some fans felt he was being too kind, while others simply couldn’t stand him speaking in generalities.
“SHUT UP AGAIN YOU BLUNT!!!!!!!!! I’M SICK OF YOUR GLAZING BILLS AND CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!! …
“Can we start a petition to ban Romo from refereeing games?” another asked.
“Can Tony Romo stand up to Josh Allen?” someone else chimed in.
“The TV goes silent when Romo starts talking,” one fan said.
Tony Romo’s partner reached an impressive milestone
While Romo was criticized, his broadcast colleague reached an impressive milestone.
Jim Nantz has worked with CBS for more than 40 years and reached his 500th game with the network calling Sunday’s game.
Nantz and Romo have been working together for seven of those 40 years.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has cemented herself as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding accomplishments and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her abilities. However, this confidence has recently caused her problems, as NBA fans criticized her for recent comments.
On a recent episode of “Roommates,” Wilson shocked both the NBA and WNBA by claiming he could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one duel. He also predicted the final score would be 11-8.
The score would be 11-8, for me. I’m not saying you’ll be shut out; 8-11 is pretty solid. So what do you think it will be, Josh? Wilson said.
Although Josh and Wilson shared a good laugh during the conversation, Wilson’s comment shocked the basketball community. “I’d lose 11-0 if he only played with his left hand,” said one fan.
