BREAKING NEWS: Charlie Woods Eliminated from 2025 U.S. Open Qualifying, for a Reason That Disappoints Tiger Woods Fans – Luxury Blog
Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, failed to qualify for the 2025 US Open after shooting 75 (+3) at Wellington Golf Club in Florida, in an attempt to reach the final round of the prestigious tournament.
Charlie Woods is taking part in one of several regional qualifying events where only a limited number of players can qualify for the final round at one of 13 qualifying venues ahead of the 2025 US Open at Oakmont next month.
Charlie Woods was seven strokes shy of the 68 needed to advance to the final round, with players like Arth Sinha (66), Matthew Marigliano (67), Tyler Stachkunas (68) and Carson Kiawonn (68) making the cut. Despite not qualifying for the final round, Charlie’s 75 was an improvement over last year’s 81 (+9) at Legacy Golf & Tennis Club.

Charlie Woods, who has appeared in five PNC Championships with his father Tiger Woods, had a successful 2024 season, qualifying for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship for the first time. However, he failed to advance to the match play at Southern Hills. With the U.S. Junior age limit set at 18, Charlie has three years to play in the tournament.
Returning to the big leagues earlier this year, Charlie played in the prestigious Sage Valley Junior Invitational, finishing T25 at +11 after rounds of 78, 73, 73 and 75. He finished the 72-hole event 20 strokes clear of champion Miles Russell, who topped the AJGA rankings.

The upcoming PNC Championship with his father Tiger could be a challenge after Tiger Woods underwent Achilles surgery in March. The PNC Championship is in December, nine months after Tiger’s surgery, and since the tournament allows carts, it could be a chance for the Woods to play again, though there are no guarantees. Last year, Charlie and Tiger lost a playoff to Team Langer, finishing second in the family event, which is open to winners.
