Angel Reese has explained why she’s still single after expressing her criteria for her next partner.
While Reese played at LSU, the star forward dated fellow college basketball player Cam’ron Fletcher. However, the two split in March 2024, with Reese remaining single since then, despite rumors floating around that the 22-year-old was dating various NBA players.
As Reese continues to live the single life, the Chicago Sky star has outlined what she’s looking for in a potential new partner. Speaking to reporters after a matchup, Reese offered specific stipulations for those interested in courting the 22-year-old basketball star.
“I have a standard for what I live and how I live my life,” she told reporters. “And as long as you can meet and fulfill my expectations, then yes.”
“Don’t get mad and try to buy me stuff you can’t afford. Like I said, know what you’re getting into. It’s like going to the store and buying a Louis Vuitton bag that costs $3,000, but you can’t buy it twice. So, like I said, know what you’re getting into.”
Reese’s recent criteria are also in line with what she’s said in the past, with a slight twist. During an episode of her podcast “Shameless Angel,” Reese shared that any potential suitor had to be at least “6-foot-7 or 6-foot-8” and had to have more substance than money.

“They have to bring something completely different to the table. There’s nothing you can buy me that I can’t buy myself,” she said at the time. And while her skills have taken basketball fans by storm, Reese also addressed rumors that have been circulating to claim she’s dating Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant.
“It was never a thing,” Reese said. “I don’t even know how it became a thing because I sat next to someone. My friend sat next to Steph [Curry]. I don’t even understand that. I don’t even know where that came from. KD has been my favorite player since I was a kid and is still my favorite player. He’s from the DMV, I love his mom, she comes out and supports the game.”
For now, Reese is focused on Rose BC, his unrivaled team, and helping them reach the playoffs after a less-than-stellar start to the season. After winning just one of their first five games, Rose has rattled off five straight wins, thanks in part to Reese’s impressive play lately.
During the winning streak, Reese averaged 15.8 points, 15.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. After Rose’s latest win over Phantom BC, Reese explained that she was playing with a “chip on her shoulder” to prove the doubters wrong.
“The five-game winning streak continues,” Reese said after the latest victory. “They ranked us at the bottom. We were the last team, nobody believed in us. We believed in each other in the locker room, so we continue to prove ourselves to each other, come in every day and work, [and] the work shows.”
