The Chiefs are honoring one of their own with a fun throwback video of Travis Kelce.
More than a decade ago, the tight end was drafted by the Kansas City team. In an Instagram video posted by the Chiefs on Wednesday, April 16 of the moment 12 years earlier, Kelce can be seen sitting at home and waiting to hear his name.
As Kelce’s head is buried in his hands, Chiefs CEO and President Clark Hunt appears on screen and says, “With the 63rd in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Travis Kelce.” People in the background at Kelce’s watch party then immediately cheer, and he is seen hugging his mom, Donna.
“This pick worked out, right @killatrav?” the team captioned the video, which was shared ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, kicking off on April 24.
“And the rest is history,” commented the New Heights podcast, which is co-hosted by Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce.
