Commenting on the social network Truth, Mr. Trump requested to “revoke the license” of CBS television because the station continuously “posted biased information” against him.
“That network does not make ‘news’, it makes lies under the guise of ‘news.’ They must be held accountable for what they have done and are doing,” Trump wrote. “CBS is out of control, like never before, and they are paying a big price for it.”
On the evening of April 13, CBS aired an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the program “60 Minutes”. The interview was conducted in the city of Kryvyi Rih, where Russia launched an Iskander ballistic missile at a restaurant earlier this month.
In the interview, Mr. Zelensky accused Russia of “absolutely not wanting peace.” Mr. Zelensky once again invited Mr. Trump to come to Ukraine to see the real damage in the conflict.
Also on April 13, CBS reporter Jon Wertheim reported from Greenland, interviewing locals about Mr. Trump’s proposal to buy the island.
The President of Ukraine appeared in an interview with CBS. The interview was broadcast on American television on April 13.
Last week, it was reported that Mr. Trump wanted to give money to the people of Greenland. Specifically, the US could replace Denmark in protecting the island, paying each Greenlander up to $10,000 a year. Responding to CBS, Greenlanders said they did not want to receive money to become part of the United States.
In a statement attacking CBS, Mr. Trump wrote: “In one day, they ran not one but two stories about me. One was linking the conflict in Ukraine to me. The conflict would never have happened if the 2020 election was not rigged, if I had won the presidency. The other was the story about Greenland. Both stories were inaccurate and false.”
“I am honored to sue CBS, because they are reporting unbelievably fake news. They deserve to have their operating license revoked. Hopefully the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will investigate and impose the highest fine,” Mr. Trump wrote on the social network Truth.
